Imam of Community Mosque Winston-Salem (NC). Serves as Director of Civic Engagement for ICNA CSJ and Chairman of Muslim Alliance for Black Lives. His expertise spans social justice activism, criminal justice reform, and interfaith work. He has authored "Come Let Us Change This World: A Brief History of the Islamic Party in North America."
Dr. Arif Mannan is the Vice President of ICNA and the Executive Director of ICNA Council for Social Justice. A pediatrician and intensive care specialist by training, he brings over 35 years of community service with a special interest in civic engagement, advocacy, and social justice. His work focuses on empowering communities to engage meaningfully in public life and systemic change.
Zunair is a lifelong New Yorker whose commitment to justice was shaped from an early age, rooted in the Islamic principle that service to others is inseparable from faith. Before joining the ICNA Council for Social Justice as Deputy Executive Director, he dedicated years to grassroots organizing and community engagement with organizations across the city and the country. Zunair believes lasting change happens when communities come together—and he’s passionate about building the coalitions and alliances that make that possible.
Old Dominion University graduate (2018) with a B.A. in Communications and Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. Joined ICNA CSJ in August 2021 and focuses on humanitarian relief advocacy.
University of Maryland, Baltimore County student pursuing Political Science. Involved with ICNA entities since 2020. Interests include political advocacy, public policy, and humanitarian work.
