ICNA-MAS Convention Holds Interfaith Banquet – May 2014

ICNA-MAS held an interfaith banquet at the 39th annual ICNA Convention on May 25, 2014.  The invitees consisted of faith leaders from various faiths around the world, such as, Zoroastrian, Hindu, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim.  The program agenda included short speeches from Naeem Baig, Sh. Abdool Rahman Khan, Dr. Anis Ahmad, and Professor Sulayman S. Nyang, the keynote speaker, followed by dinner.

Br. Naeem Baig, president of ICNA, speaks on this year’s theme of the convention: Faith, Submission, Service.

 


Sh. Abdool Rahman Khan, chairman of the Shari’ah Council of ICNA, further elaborated on the theme.

 


Dr. Anis Ahmad, President of Riphah International University in Pakistan, speaks about Islam and Orientalism.

 

Professor Sulayman S. Nyang, Professor and Chairman of the African Studies Department at Howard University in Washington, D.C., provided the keynote address on the topic of Interfaith Movement in the American Society.
