ICNA Demands Donald Trump Apologize for ‘Islam hates us’ Claim

ICNA Council for Social Justice (CSJ) joined several other Muslim organizations today in the CAIR office in Washington, D.C. for a press conference to demand apology from Donald Trump for his ignorant remarks about Islam.

“Such statements have negative and sometimes violent consequences for millions of innocent Muslim Americans or even non-Muslims who are perceived to be Muslims. These bigoted remarks only further divide us and have the opposite effect of making America great again.

“No nation can prosper by picking on its minorities. It is completely hypocritical to criticize ISIS for picking on minority Christians and turning around and doing the exact same thing here in the U.S.

“U.S. politicians should lead by example and not model themselves by following the erring ways of others in order to win favor with extreme right wing groups and xenophobes. No good can come from this.”
