ICNA CSJ is deeply saddened by and strongly condemns the murder of George Floyd by four Minneapolis police officers. This shows yet another display of police brutality where an unarmed African American has lost their life. The officers have since been fired from their jobs.

The death of George Floyd proves that systemic structured racism and oppression of African Americans is still prevalent in America today. One of the reasons we still hear of news like this is because of the lack of accountability and responsibility that police have in America for such actions. The lack of justice in these police brutality killings and murder cases permit more and more to occur. ICNA CSJ believes these officers should be put to trial to the fullest extent of the law, just as any other citizen would have been.
