Kashmir was once considered a virtual paradise on earth but has been reduced to a killing field by the Indian reign of terror. The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been denied for more than seven decades their inalienable right to self-determination. It was guaranteed by an agreement between Pakistan and India that was endorsed by the UN Security Council in 1948. It was subsequently confirmed by several other UN resolutions. Due to its denial by the Indian government, the Kashmiris have faced killings, torture, detentions, rapes, disappearances, and various other forms of suffering.

Since August 5th of last year, the eight million Kashmiris are living under the brutal control of more than 800,000 Indian military and paramilitary forces. The Indian fascist Hindutva government abrogated the article 370 and 35A, which gave special status to the State of Jammu and Kashmir within the Indian constitution. And now the Modi RSS government is trying to alter the demographic character of the territory by imposing a bizarre and illegal reorganization order 2020 and domicile rule. All these actions are an open contravention of several UN resolutions. Kashmir has become the biggest open-air prison in the world. Since august 5, 2019, 80 million Kashmiris have been living under the longest lockdown.
