Bampett Muhamed

Corporal In The Civil War

Bampett Muhamed was a corporal who fought in the Revolutionary war in 1775, and was among the nation’s earliest Muslim soldiers who fought in Virginia. There is not a lot of data available about the corporal, as the US military did not recognize Islam as a possible religion for a service member. Regardless, the United States honors his service.
